Ghost Town
Nestled on the side of mountain, the mining town of Jerome bustles with tourists. At a little more than 5,000ft and 450 people, Jerome offers a museum tour and a downtown with plenty of shops and the famous Haunted Hamburger. Jerome was home to the United Verde mine in the late 19th century. During that time the town was home to about 2,500 people. From my experience there, 2,500 is such a large amount of people for the amount of space available. The town was plagued with four fires that destroyed a considerable amount of the town each time. As you can guess, many lives were lost during those fires. Jerome is a very unique small town that I would encourage people to visit. It lies along historic route 89a in Arizona.
